Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?

Posted by arlene7 @arlene7, May 27, 2020

Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

I am on Evenity now (5th injection coming up at end of May). My Rheum recommended Prolia but I suggested Reclast. He agreed and will do this after Evenity. He said I would need 2 injections (a year apart) then a "holiday (one year I think) ". After that? don't know. I did not want Prolia for reasons mentioned on these forums. I have not had any problems or side effects with Evenity so I am just not worrying about the future. It is kind of vague but that's the way these drugs are. No clear path, depends on the individual response it seems and hard to chart a course in advance.

I stopped after my 2nd injections of Evenity due to numerous adverse effects including fatigue, brain fog, stiff and painful neck and shoulders and back, random muscle spasms and daily headaches and vivid weird dreams at night. It's been 2 months since I stopped and I still have most of these symptoms - but they seem to be less frequent now. I hope your body adjusts quickly and you don't continue to have problems.

I did 3 mo hrs of Evinity. Insomnia fatigue dizziness and back pain made it not possible to continue. It has been 2 months since my last only. Still feeling the same. Did anyone with similar symptoms feel better after 3 months?

I have recently started evenity and have insomnia. Wondering how many of you experienced this. I went ahead with my third shot...but three to four hours of sleep is max...and last night zero. I never had trouble sleeping prior.

I have SEVERE osteo porosis...think my T is like -4.7...I really want the evenity...will prob follow with prolia and then try a year of forteo....

Anyway...for those of you who had insomnia...did you take anything to try to deal with it? and was anything more effective than another? melatonin (I am on it) A diazepam? unisom? bennadryl I am getting desparate

@anniefoley
My lack of sleep eas not due to evenity
However the best product for sleep in our household of 2 70+year olds are thc 9 gummies.
Thc 9 is legal in our state. If you have legal thc dispensaries in your state you could investigate those sleep products. We each take 1/2 of a gummy and in 10 min. We are nodding off. I can count on at least 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Hope this helps.

@anniefoley sorry to hear that! I finished my year of Evenity. I did not have insomnia; however, I have been taking 100 mg Magnesium glycinate with dinner. It seems that helps with sleeping at least 6 1/2 hours straight. However, I am not a doctor!
Hope you get some 💤 soon!
