Started Repatha - Side Effects

There is an obsession with “numbers.” I hate that word. EVERYTHING was LDL. Then the number considering LDL HDL and triglycerides. Then LPa. Then the “ratio” considering LDL/LPa. Sometimes I think we are all guinea pigs. They tell us to take a drug then tell us it’s bad and to stop. Meanwhile, the side effects cause loss of enjoyment of life. Most of the Repatha side effects are now gone after MONTHS. I am feeling strong again and doing my activities, EXCEPT, Repatha caused me extreme low back pain that remains. It makes me wonder if it caused permanent damage to those nerves. Right now I’m just going with weight, exercise, diet, sleep. My “numbers” have improved. My internist said “you are good.”

I understand. I went off Repatha after having severe side effects that stopped so many life activities. I waited, hoped, and prayed if I waited long enough…the effects would eventually get better. Nope! So on Nexletol (doing very well) until I see the lipids specialist. Thank you all for the information and support.
