I have long hair that I usually pull back into a low ponytail each morning after brushing. This morning I was aware how I had to raise my arms to brush and do this..how did ya’ll brush your hair and put it up if needed? I also noticed I use my elbow a lot to move around as I sleep..I guess that will be controlled by pain..yikes. Any advice or suggestions are much appreciated. Sharon

I may not be a help on that one. I laugh because I actually cut my hair short enough for wash and go. My husband did offer but my daughter came with to drive so she took on that job. I wasn't too focused on how styled it was. The chest splint/brace helped me turn in bed since I'm a side sleeper. Pain med at night the first couple of weeks, for sure helped. Honestly, sleep has been my greatest challenge until this 5th week, but I did use Tylenol and Ibuprofen and extra pillows to help. Naps (new for me) helped too.

I used several pillows to prop myself up in the motel on the way home. Once home, I preferred a Lazy Boy for sleeping, no danger of rolling over in the night and it was easy to rise from to use the bathroom. Hair: mine was short at the time and I was able to move my head around to brush it while keeping the shoulder-to-elbow part of my arm next to my side. I have an autoimmune condition which resulted in some ugly bald spots, consequently, I always wear a hat, scarf or my wig when leaving the house. I wore scarves at Mayo; husband put then on each day.
