Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?
I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

I have 4 different styles, all work for me equally well. The common denominator is they are all with either "relaxed fit with memory foam 360" or "wide fit air cooled memory foam with gogamat arch support". Although they are stretch fabric uppers and soft "urethane?" soles, they can get hot by the end of the day if you have sweaty feet. If you can find an outlet store, they are frequently in the $35-$55 price range so having 4-6 pairs for rotation works best for me. I have tried the Hike Barefoot style - they do not do anything for me. There was a style of walking shoe that worked for several years, but then got dropped by the manuf. which led me to Sketchers. Walking has been good since (no more pins and needles pain). Good luck, just gotta keep trying until you find the relief, then life is good.
There seems to be as many shoes as there are people that need them. Reminds me of the old saying 'If the shoe fits...' Don't listen to people, listen to your feet. try 'em. Send them back if you can or donate them. For me I ended up with a high end running shoe with laces, they are stable, lightweight and supportive ... and the laces are physical therapy in disguise. Walking is not automatic anymore; it takes focus and thought. For me the steadyness helps avoid the twisting and stressing that contributed to my pain. Yes, it still hurts, but I get from here to there...one step at a time.
Interesting... I have had the sensation of "walking on marbles" for as long as I can remember (memory fade) and in recent times have been formally diagnosed with nerve damage, filed under "peripheral neuropathy" and being treated with Pregabalin (previously Gabapentin). Wouldn't think it is helping much until I stop taking it and then I know for sure it is doing something! I would be interested to know more about the laser treatment and secondly, did you ever find an insole worth spending money on?
Anyone have experience using Vicks Vaporub on soles of feet for neuropathy?
Hello all suffered of PN.
Like many of you, I have been totally frustrated in my search for the just the right type of socks or footwear that would relieve the pains in my feet.
A 10 to 13 year quest ended this past fall when a friend suggested Othofeet footwear. They totally changed almost everything for me.
My podiatrist recommended these innersoles for my shoes ($75). I bought them at her office but they are also sold on Amazon for the same price. They help with my bottom of foot pain (arch). Does any one have terrible pain in their toes where even walking down the stairs it feels like your toes are made of glass and they are shattering? If so, what helps if anything? I’m new to neuropathy and have so much to learn so I’m happy to read here what you find helps
I've been dealing with neuropathy in my feet for 10 years, which has gradually increased in intensity to the point that I can no longer wear regular crew socks like I've done my entire adult life. What my wife and I have found that works well for me are what they call Diabetic socks. We found them in the pharmacy area of our local grocery store, and they're basically just designed to fit looser than normal socks do. These, along with extra wide tennis shoes from New Balance let me wear shoes for a few hours without the pain becoming too bad.
I have wide flat feet any way, so I wear size 11 4EW shoes now, and New Balance has more than one style to choose from, and they've held up very well.
I was a runner and am now a lurcher (5k). In adition to neuropathy I had a brain bleed stroke and arthritis. Balance problems, moderate foot pain, leg cramps etc Tried so-called stability shoes (looked like Bozo the clown) and after a while tried my best running shoes. Not perfect,
but improved all aspects including balance less pain and ability to walk for exercise which is just an all around good. I also wear socks made for steel toe boots
Everybody is different. Find a podiatrist with PN.

Here is my PN story. We all know, there are so many parts of our bodies that get old and slow down. It can be breathing, seeing, hearing, understanding and on and on. Here, we all look for the "guy" who has the same or similar ailment and find out what they have done to relieve the pain. Right? We are on this helpful site. When there is less pain, we move better. accomplish more and probably are more pleasant to be around. Here's my deal, it surprises me still. I started with undiagnosed PN in the 80's. Nobody knew anything. I used a walker because of such severe foot pain and also thought I would fall. A Podiatrist could not figure it out and decided to do surgery. (Duh, I agreed) It failed miserably and the DR told me to walk on my rt heel for one year. (Thanks, Doc) BTW, that caused severe rt hip displacement and sciatica, which I am still suffering from. Moving on, I was finally actually diagnosed with actual PN and I heard the "Sorry, no cure." But all these years later, although my pain is constant, not increasing, and it is MUCH LESS painful for the past 20 years, compared to the start! Remember, this started in the 80's. I did have to change my job from Outside Sales to an inside job. My story is to say, there is HOPE, and maybe, all the new comers will have a similar experience as time goes by. It took me a lot of time and flat shoes with thick socks, bla, bla, bla, but the pain is there, but finally has NOT increased, and I am now 90. We are glad for small favors, 'cause there's only so much we can take! Wishing you all the BEST!
I agree about the stability shoes, don’t like the looks of them. I have Orthofeet sneakers and New Balance running sneakers and I find that the New Balance with the inserts that I posted a picture of work better for my bottom of foot pain.
