Cyclic vomiting syndrome

After two plus years of GI issues (nausea, vomiting, weight loss of 40 # in 4 months), I was diagnosed with CVS.

All of the recommended meds I am on for Fibromyalgia - Amitriptyline, Baclofen, Imitrex, Omeprazole, Pregabalin, and Sucralfate - and wondering if there are more options. Diet, lifestyle, and exercise of course. Is there something I am missing?

I know everyone is different, but there has to be a working solution for most.

Tagging members like @hsayler @jean64 @bradleymom1967 @kilh @nicolemramirez @concernedmtnmom @glad483118 @okeefe38 @jdd @coppageb who have mentioned cyclical vomiting syndrome to share what has helped them or a loved one with this syndrome. @julsnealey @coquifoife also may have insights to offer.

My doctor told me that too. But when a new doctor did a scan of my gallbladder it was so bad he had to do surgery. Been fine ever since.

@77montecarlo Hi- my daughter (27) is fighting CVS, but also a severe panic/anxiety disorder. We can't figure out if they are linked or not. You mention Fibro. Do your docs think that there is a nervous system connection?

Some thinking (right now) of a pancreatic link as well- that's an avenue we are exploring.

She has had some luck with benzos (currently Xanax) - which do seem to help with the CVS but make her so dopey she can't work. We are still trying to find a solution here too and I would be grateful for insights from you as well.

Good luck. I know from seeing my daughter suffer that this is terrible.
