Anyone on Pilocarpine(Salagen) for post radiation dry mouth?
Hello I am 9 months out of 35 radiation treatments for base of tongue cancer.
The treatments left me with severe dry mouth. Someone suggested I ask for Salagen tablets. Has anyone had success with this?
I have tried gum...mouthwash and lozenges
Nothing seem to help. Nighttime is the worst. PLEASE HELP!!!

I used the Xylimelts mints that stick to your gums. You apply one at night and it keeps your mouth moist all night. I got mine off Amazon but I know Wal-Mart stores have them, too.
Thank you so much @sandy8043. I will check out Amazon today.
Hello @lilypilly. I too treat dry mouth at night with the Xylimelt tablets. It also helps to run an ultrasonic nebulizer/vaporizer beside your bed at night. Humidifying the air really helps with that night mouth dryness. Just staying well hydrated during the day will also make a difference. At times you have to force yourself to drink more water or electrolyte mix but it makes a difference. I've been dealing with this for 12 years and it is no fun to lose sleep waking up with your tongue stuck to the roof of your mouth!
