Congestive Heart Failure in young people
My daughter, Heather, passed from Congestive Heart Failure at the age of 25. This was a total shock as she was very healthy and no examinations have ever revealed this possibility. She did have a kidney infection in Dec 2015 and went for diagnosis twice when she had the symptoms. Both times the doctors just passed it off as anxiety. She died in Feb 2015 at Tampa General. The surgeon tried to install VADs on both sides of her heart. When he came to us in the waiting room he said he never saw anything like the scars inside her heart.
I would like to know if anyone else has a story like this. We can only surmize that Heather must have had a dormant virus that was activated by something she took or was exposed to. I wished now we would have had an autopsy done but there may still be no way of finding out how she contracted this evil in her heart.

@hopeful33250 Hello there, How have you been? It's been awhile. I just got back from an appointment with my cardiologist. He thinks I'm improving a lot. He says I can drink as much water as I want.
Hello @bangel
It is so good to hear from you! I'm glad to hear that your cardiologist appointment went so well. Everything is going OK for me. I'm dealing with a few chronic conditions but all in all, no complaints.
Keep in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.
Teresa
@hopeful33250 Yea I'll be in touch. Chronic conditions like?
Agree with Teresa. CHF is chronic and any progress, is helpful.
Happy to hear your appointment with the cardiologist went well! It sounds like you are making great strides in improving your eating habits and overall health! Keep up the great work!
Hello @bangel
It has been several months since I've heard from you. I hope that means that you are continuing to do well. I would enjoy hearing from you. Will you drop a post and let me know how you are?
@hopeful33250 I am sorry I haven't been posting. I am just trying so hard to deal with this illness. It's not been easy, but I have improved a lot. My doctor has been very pleased, he says I can perform all my daily activities. So I've been trying to keep up, even though eating without salt has been hell. My ejection pressure is currently at 70 percent. Thank you so much for remembering me. It means so much to me. I'll be happier now knowing someone out there cares. How are you doing yourself?
@bangel
Good to hear from you. Wow, that does sound good. A ejection of 70 is remarkable for anyone, but especially considering how ill you were earlier in the year. Congratulations, you must be doing a lot of the right things for your health. I'm doing well, my last cardiac work-up looked good, thanks for asking.
Are you walking on a regular basis now? Have you added any other exercise routine that you would like to share?
@hopeful33250 No other exercise, I just walk. I walk and eat very healthy. I haven't broken any of the rules. My doctor says I can drink, but I am too scared to even try. I am just hoping that in the next 5/6years there would be a permanent cure or something.
I understand, @bangel. There are new medications and treatments coming out all the time. As you are young, you might see some of those for heart failure and be able to use them.
I'm so pleased to know how well you are doing!
