Can kidney stones cause blood in urine on and off?
Have you had a bladder infection test that is negative, and kidney stones that cause blood in your urine? I've had blood in urine for a week on and off - blood for 2 days - then none visible for a day or more, - then blood again and so on. I curious if kidney stones can cause blood to come and go like that. Thanks -

Regarding testing and tests, sometimes problems can crop up. False negatives happen when a test shows that you don’t have a problem, but you do. False positives means that the test shows you have a problem, but you don’t. Either can be hugely aggravating! A way of preventing this is to use very reputable labs and follow testing instructions carefully. When it comes to medical tests sometimes the symptoms are a better indication of what is going on.
In regards to kidney stones, bad ones can be painful to pass and can cause evidence of blood. I have never heard of this happening in an “on and off” fashion. I would be inclined to consult a urologist about this or at the very least get your primary doc’s opinion on it. Could you do that?
