No more drugs. Long distance walking, tolerable weight bearing exercises and nutrition through food focusing on protein, calcium, etc. and supplements when appropriate. My overall health is wonderful except for my poor bones. My body does not respond well to anything foreign being introduced. We are all unique and must make decisions which might differ from others.

I have chosen not to take any Rx medications. I have already survived multiple fractures due to trauma. Incredibly painful rehabbing those fractures; however, I prefer to live out my twilight years without hurting my total body with these drugs. No one really knows the ramifications of taking most of these drugs long term. If my body has such negative responses, it is telling me “no”. I am sticking with my supplements and exercise. Most of these drugs treat the spine vs. the hip where I could use the most improvement. My spine is osteopenia and my hip is osteoporosis. Hope that you find the best solution for your body. We are all so unique. 😊

I am sorry to hear of your pain. Agree, nobody knows the true long term effects of these drugs. I told my doctor my body is telling me something with these side effects, she said all drugs have side effects and we can argue forever over it. I have taken calcium, D3, K2 for decades as well as exercise and still have severe osteoporosis. Mine is more in my femur and lumbar areas; all osteoporosis. Every one of these osteo meds have side effects, some are really bad: jaw decay, stroke, heart attack, dizziness, bone/jt/muscle pain, and can fracture once off of them. These meds are lifelong, once you start one, have to be on it or another forever. I don't know if that is good for me either. I wish you well too.
