Does anyone have IGA nephropathy and how to manage it, what treatment to take and what are your symptoms

@deepakraj welcome to Kayo Clinic Connect. I have chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 4 and there is an IGA component. There are many different types and causes of kidney problems. It is helpful to find out what you are dealing with before considering treatment. Do you have a nephrologist? We at Mayo Clinic Connect shouldn’t be trying to diagnose or prescribe treatment. We mainly share our stories to provide encouragement and give hope to each other.
My kidney problems come from having diabetes and a history of hypertension (high blood pressure). There are surprisingly few symptoms. It is mostly increasing fatigue and weakness. Occasionally I have been light headed and have had shortness of breath. There is no pain. Nothing hurts.
My treatment has involved controlling my blood sugar as best as possible and I have an endocrinologist for my diabetes. I have a nephrologist who has prescribed blood pressure medications. I get lab work done for these two specialists and have follow up visits with them every few months. They have referred me to a dietician that specializes in diabetes and renal conditions. This provider has helped me design a meal plan that is helpful to my diabetes and kidney condition. Some foods are hard on kidneys to process. It helps to learn about what you can have, what you should limit and the amounts of foods to use for your own personal situation.
Do you have access to these providers for help?
