Oh, I definitely understand your fear. Has your cardiologist told you why a target of 70 instead of 100? It may be worth another discussion understand why. Also, ask them how this drug works differently than other cholesterol drugs and if there’s a way to tip your toe in the water a bit to try it. I tried it some time ago and quit after 4 days. I tried again later and was ok taking 1/2 tablet.

My endocrinologist wanted the same for me. I don’t have heart disease but family history is significant. I’m 74 years old and I was an athlete. I still am very active, except during this bout with side effects. I don’t smoke or drink. I think I’m going to rely on healthy habits. This may be a quality over quantity decision. Who knows?
