Can anyone advise about what insurance best covers immunotherapies?
I'm about to have a career transition. Into what, I don't yet know. I want to choose something that will provide the best possible coverage for the treatment of my CLL that looms on my horizon. What I have seen developing in immunotherapies seems so promising but the cost will certainly preclude me from any chance of receiving it unless i have insurance that will fully cover it. Anyone familiar with the specifics on this?

It may be useful to review the policies of various insurance companies to see what they cover. If you have a teaching hospital in your area, you can check on what insurance companies are associated, clinical trials (which hopefully will be funded through time), and if they have CLL oncology specialists.
Much of the immuno therapy is done in clinical trials. Best to start at academic center with a research edge. Ie mayos, MD Anderson or City of hope. As clinical trials do not go through insurance usually, that can be a nonissue
