I had my knee surgery four months ago. That's four years after my open heart surgery. Everything was fine but the anesthesiologist wanted to be extra careful and put an arterial line in for better monitoring. HOCM and HCM post open heart surgery makes the anesthesiologists anxious! I was cleared for surgery by the Mayo Clinic right before my surgery, as in my local area HCM is unfamiliar and foreign.

Did you have to wait 4 years to have the knee surgery? I have a torn meniscus and really need to have it scoped and fixed. I need a total knee replacement on my other knee. Cronic pain in both knees..I don't think I can stand it for 4 years!! Yikes.. Sharon

I wanted to have my knee surgery before the heart but no anesthesiologist would touch me. Now I have to have the heart first then the knee. I was hoping to have it a few months after the heart surgery..is this possible? Sharon
