How does Mayo second opinion consult look like ?
I am wondering how second opinion (via Zoom) consultations look like at Mayo ?
We inquired about that possibility at Stanford and the fee is $700. It will involve a doctor (we would not know the name ahead of time) and we would be able to ask 5 questions O-o (????!!!) This is beyond strange approach. Needless to say it is now out of question, it would be comical if it was not tragic. FIVE QUESTIONS !

I've switched to Mayo, but my first visit had to be in person, due to some out-of-state laws or something. But now that I have met my doctor in person, we can now set up video calls. I have a couple scheduled in May.
I had to drive 11 hours one way to get to Mayo (Rochester) for the initial visit. It was worth it.
I also encountered the state licensing hurdle so I went in person. Blood panels mri and petscan One day and consult the next. About $20k but Medicare covered all but $50. Good 2nd opinion!
@surftohealth88, Mayo Clinic welcomes both new and existing patients for virtual care in adherence with federal and state licensing regulations. Virtual care is available for out-of-state patients IF the provider you are seeing is licensed in the state where you live.
Video and phone visits can be great options for appointments before, after or in place of face-to-face care. Appointment coordinators will recommend a virtual visit if it best fits your individual needs.
You can submit an online request to schedule a meeting with an appointment coordinator to learn more and what might work for you: http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63
Thank you Colleen for the info and link : )
It seems that initial consultation has to be in person and I can now see why. It actually makes sense.
I wish Mayo is closer to us ...
There is a Mayo Clinic in Arizona…
