I’d first talk with the doctor who gave him the Metformin. My husband takes it and has not had that issue, but each patient is different. I’ve had tinnitus off and on my entire life. I was born with Congenital Rubella Syndrome. Deaf in my left ear with partial hearing in my right. I just decided at age 71 to order the BiCross Hearing aids. I get them in May. There is an app you can download for tinnitus and it helped me. I do find that caffeine affects it. I also avoid loud places like nosy restaurants, concerts and any place with loud atmospheres. Hope it gets better!

I appreciate your reply and sorry about you having it so long ! Yes his PCP and ENT said MetF will NOT make tinnitus worse...... I do not believe they know for sure, everyone is different and it is worse when on MetF so why would they say that ? Maybe medically it shouldnt but it does !!
I am looking into hearing aid (that is recommeded from the Audiologist) this week to set up an appointment since his insurance will cover it, not sure how much. I will look into the app, hubby doesnt like to mess with apps so I will. Can you tell me how that works? He lways would avoid noisy places as early on in our marriage he would cancel last minute and he never told me why, so I wish he had. Thank you for hoping it gets better, me too ! This is a terrible disease ! Be safe.
