My wife is being reviewed for MS. She already has most of the symptoms

Posted by alybon42724 @alybon42724, 1 day ago

My wife is in the stages of being diagnosed for MS. She has a lot of the symptoms and her mother had it. She was just out through 5 days of steroid IV at Barrows and during her rehabilitation began showing a major shift in her personality behavior. She told them inwas unsafe to go home to and medically neglectful and started an APS investigation. Now I know they have no evidence of that and she even stated financial abuse. The evil things she is saying is completely out of character for her. They released her to her brothers home. I did more reading on the psychological effects of MS by John Hopkins and believe she is experiencing a significant brain change causing her personality shift. No one will help me further investigate and I am not allowed to contact them. Need advice.

Thank you. No while she was in hospital she put in place plans to give medical and financial power of attorney to her brother. This os definitely part of her trauma and the effects of the MS as it is completely out of character by 1000 miles. I have gotten a lawyer. Thank you for the response and links.

High steroid doses can also cause a personality shift. When I had a major allergic reaction, I needed a lot of steroids to calm down my immune system. I became so impossibly disagreeable that my husband made an appointment to see a divorce lawyer. Luckily before things had gone too far, the effects of the meds were wearing off and we both realized what had happened.

But you need a lawyer experienced in this area of law.

That is what I thought too and have expressed my concern. I know her and she is definitely experiencing an aggressive and odd personality shift. I am seeking divorce as well. Was not my first choice but being put under investigation for a criminal offence was my last straw not to mention all the evil things being said to our therapist. I am unable to advocate for her per my law die to risk legally. I want my wife back i love her deeply and she does me. Just insane how fast this all happened.

Is she still on the steroids? I understand you have no say in the matter, but if that could be learned then maybe all of this will disappear in time. Keep your faith in her and in God's capable hands. You have my prayers!

No they did the 5 treatments her first week. She experienced 1 thing during the doses that she told me. Night sweats. So bad she was soaked and I had to bring her more clothes. After her treatments it was about 1.5 days before she was transferred to rehabilitation. From that point on is when I started seeing the personality changes. At first i thought she was just exceptionally about her therapy starting but it just seemed to get more off the norm. Her family are either in denial or she pulls it in as much as she can. She has ADHD and CPTSD so she has had mental instability her entire life. Today is our 1 year anniversary which is emotionally tough for me. I appreciate all tge feedback.
