Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line, there is a full explanation here on this website but not sure where. I had the PICC line for two weeks but pseudomonas is a stubborn bacteria and came back. I have an Infectious Disease Dr. and she finally contained it with antibiotics. Mine did colonate in my right lung so I have to try to avoid getting another infection. Not sure how that is done. If you had cipro and that caused issues for you, I SUGGEST you question the use of Levaquin if it is prescribed to you. They are from the same fluoroquinolone family. My Dr. prescribed both and I now have lasting side effects. What is MAC?

Had good luck with cipro. I see doc this week about new coughing episodes. In the meantime, brevespi twice a day helps.

Regarding MAC, try googling. Lots of explanations there. If you've had your phlegm tested, then maybe you don't have it, but it's very common with BE.
