Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?
I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

I have a pair of Ortho feet that have very nice to me. Unfortunately there rounding the final curve and headed for the great shoe store in the sky.
Being on the minimum social Security, don't really know how I'm going to afford new
I had good luck with a referral from my doc to go to a podiatrist. After she listened to my issues she recommended 4 brands of shoes that would help, as well as providing other input for reducing neuropathy pain. I've tried on Brooks, Hoka, Altra, Saucony and am giving the Hoka's a try as they were most comfortable. I don't have balance problems so not experiencing what some of you are. That said, everyone's issue is different! I wholly recommend going to a podiatrist for their take on it. What works for one might not work for another person.
I find New Balance to be the best and they come in many widths. Also have one with a carbon fiber built in. The Vongo
I purchased the Hoka M Bondi shoes in the Galactic Grey/Grey color. Also, a reasonable wide width. They cost me $170, but so far, well worth it. I am going to visit my daughter in Florida next week and will see how they do after walking two days at Disney World. I will post back here when I return.

Bull's-eye! That's the reason this topic is so popular and long-lasting. I noticed that to date this poic has 1,204 postings. Wow! I just returned my first pair of Hokas. They were super comfortable––until I stood and began to walk around.
My PN symptom is entirely bad balance. While the Hokas felt great so long as I was sitting at my desk, the moment I got up and asked the Hokas to help me with locomotion, they proved too cushy, so cushy that I felt I might tip over in any one of 360° directions. My conclusion? Hokas are fantastic shoes, but not if a PNer's problem is entirely bad balance.

I loved my Hoka Arahis until recently when I started feeling wobbly in them! I switched to Brooke Glycerin 21 supportive (I always was a pronator). They are cushy and supportive, not throwing my balance off.
With my neuropathy I am no longer able to wear closed toe shoes. The tingling and burning is too bad. Burns worse in shoes. I wear open tied shoes. Still burns. Not as bad
Believe it or not I bought sketchers new slip ins and for unknown reasons they are the best. I walk 2 miles every day in them and they relieve some of the numbness
Good morning, Jan
As one pronator to another, I'd been a fan of Brooks shoes (Brooks Addictions) for many years. They'd been suggested by my Boulder, Colo., foot doctor as the best possible shoes for good heel stability. I mention 'Boulder, Colo.' only to hint at this doctor's credentials: Boulder, Colo., one of the running capitals of the U.S.; the office was filled with photos of World Class runners, each photo autographed to my foot doctor. I may not have been a World Class runner (7th Class, maybe 🙂 , but I figured this doctor must know a thing or two. It wasn't until a knee replacement, and then my PN, that my love affair with Brooks Addictions came to an end. Basically, I found the weight of the Brooks shoes to be more challenging to maintaining good balance. These days I live in Skechers (for knock-about shoes) and Nunn Bush (for dressier occasions––of which there are few! Hurrah!). I miss my Brooks, though.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Cheers!

Hello, just received my 3rd pair of Hoka Bondi 9. I love them, my main complain, besides the burning in thighs is BALANCE and the Hokas help alot. Sandals are still sort of a problem I have gone from very$$$$ to less expensive so far the Kuailu sandal is good, not excellent but good, still in search of the excellent sandal, I live in Fl. so sandals are a must. Oh I just started creatine powder today, looks hopeful for idiopathic PN. We shall see, anybody else out there that has tried this? Thank You!
