Smart Vest…Possible alternative

The volara gets in pretty deeply to the lungs. It’s also a quick therapy. Cons are that it’s more stuff to clean and the hose can’t be boiled or steam sterilized.

I haven’t been using it lately because I suspect it aggravates my hemoptysis. Next week i follow up with my pulmonologist so will ask him about it.

Since I have learned more about airway clearance techniques from videos on this site I don’t feel as much need for it. Postural drainage, exercise (walking, resistance bands, and things like qi gong) and breath holds work especially well for me and are gentler.

Did you notice more frequent hemoptysis episodes corresponding to when you used the Volara? I'm curious if your pulmonologist had any theories about whether the Volara aggravated it.
