From my understanding 0.2 filter won’t rid NTM you need something like 0.0002 or 0.0005.
It will filter a lot of nasties and viruses yes but not the NTM. If it is a carbon filter that can also breed mycobacteria apparently they thrive in what they call a gac granulated carbon filter.

A .2 micron filter will remove NTM. There is one used in dental offices that fits a standard in-line dual or triple cartridge water filter. You place the large (2 micron) and medium (1.0, .9 or .5 micron) particle filters first and the
.2 micron filter last. Place the in-line filter as close as possible to the sink being filtered, and try to use only a short vertical run of pipe to the faucet. This leaves nowhere for water to sit after filtering and accumulate bacteria. Change the filters per instructions and your volume of use. If any bacteria breeds in the charcoal filters, it cannot pass through the final filter.

Someday I plan to dismantle the .2 mic filter to see what it I made of.

Per Dr. Faulkinham on NTMir: A 0.2 micrometer pore size filter will prevent the passage of NTM and other bacteria. (a micrometer is a micron)
