I lasted 8 months with Evenity, but stopped due to side effects: rash, cough, brain fog...
I have learned a lot from the various postings regarding side effects from Evenity. I had my first injection 8 days ago and have noticed brain fog, fatigue, burning and itching sensation in my legs below the knees, and a few other symptoms. My endocrinologist suggested the burning sensation may be parethesia and advised taking an extra dose of calcium when it occurs. At this point I am taking a wait and see approach, but I do think doctors should explain various possible side effects in more detail before prescribing this and other treatments. I resisted taking medication for osteoporosis for many years precisely because I feared having side effects, but after a compression fracture in my vertebrae two years ago decided I should start treatment. From the various postings I have read here I am once again having strong doubts..
Evenity can cause inflammation in the bone marrow ( in mice). It is helpful to know your experience. Will you post again when the pain is gone. I'm sorry you've had this experience and hope your lifestyle resumes soon.
Is it the norm to have a blood test after Evenity??
My endocrinologist said she would run blood tests on me a couple times during my year on evenity. I had my 2nd injection a couple days ago.
Thanks. What are they looking for with these blood tests?
They ran my calcium levels now and vitamin D. Also, a few other things but those are the 2 she mentioned. Maybe the others just run when they do those 2?
Thanks, @grammy9! Wishing you all the best!
Thank you so very much!!!
Wish you well too!!
This mayo connect has helped warm my heart!
I just came off Evenity after 3 months. When I received my first bill from January it was 507.00. I called to find out what the remaining balance would be and they said that’s what I have to pay out of pocket for all of the twelve months. Over 6k. For me I can not afford it so good luck with your 12 months and hopefully you get the results you want. Btw that is being on Humana Medicare.
