Thanks Ling this was an old post and since I discovered I needed to be on oxygen which I am now. I am not having any issue getting up the mucus currently. My issue is that I produce too much and constantly fight chronic infection. I have noticed lately that taking a B vitamin a few hours before my nebulizing works as an expectorant if I need one.

Hi Irenea, I am so sorry to hear that you are still on oxygen. I meant to ask.
I can see that constantly fighting infections wears you out. I wish there was a better way to control your chronic infection. I hope things can turn around for you at some point. Yesterday I was reading a post, someone was bedridden for 2 years, now he could swim half a mile everyday. So there is always hope.
