Core biopsy from mass on right lateral neck
I have a tissue exam report from a mass on right lateral neck. I'm expecting a cancer diagnosis. Can a determination be made from tissue sample and pet scan, or is more information needed and what is the produre?

ty for reaching out i guess I'm at stage four with no clue what kind or where it started.
@jmcates11, have you worked with your cancer team in the meantime? What's the treatment plan? How are you doing?
Hi Colleen, I have met with a hematology oncologist and will meet my radiation oncologist next week. I am not a candidate for TORS procedure since my carotid artery runs in an unusual rout on the same side of my neck where the cancer is. However, the doctors and the tumor board at UC Davis is not concerned because the preferred treatment plan for this scenario is Chemo therapy in conjunction with radiation for 6-7 weeks, with an excellent success rate. I am at stage 1 and oncologist gave me a 90%+ chance of success, which was very encouraging to hear. I start treatment in a few weeks. In the meantime, I will be having all 4 of my very nicely fitting wisdom teeth removed next week to reduce the risk of complications caused by the treatment down the road.
I miss spoke here. It was squamous cell carcinoma.
