Can you describe the tinnitus? I developed tinnitus after a penetrating ear trauma and had 3 ear surgeries in 2024. My baseline is a low cricket/locusts/hissing sound. The last 6-7 months my tinnitus changes to a roaring ocean/waterfall sound. At times it’s so loud, I want to scream. Apparently, according to my Neurotologist, I’ve developed endolymphatic hydrops from the ear trauma. When I get the roaring tinnitus, my hearing decreases to moderate-severe hearing loss and requires oral Prednisone for 10 days to decrease the inflammation in my inner ear in hopes my hearing returns to baseline. So far, I’ve regained most of my hearing back to baseline. I also take a diuretic, Betahistine and follow a low sodium, low sugar, no caffeine or alcohol diet. I’m still navigating all of this. Hydrops can be caused by other conditions as well. I don’t know your ear history or if this could be a possibility. Prayers 🙏
