Evenity - Shots in Arm versus Belly? Any advice?

Posted by dmshope @dmshope, Apr 16 7:58am

I am about to begin Evenity treatment and have heard that the shots although usually adminstered in arms, can be given in the belly.
Does anyone have expereince they can share?
My arms are muscular and small and even a tetnus causes intermusucluar pain so I am wondering if the belly is better. If shots are given in belly , are they given on either side? Thank you advance.
Good health to you,

@dmshope When I was getting Evenity injections last year I tried both: Upper back of the arm and in the belly. I had read that the belly injections might cause less after pain or tenderness. I did not notice any difference between the two sites on the body. Ultimately, I chose to stay with the upper arm injections.

I recommend trying arms one month and belly the next month so you can compare for yourself.

What is the date of your first injections?

My first Evenity treatment is tomorrow..... I have been waiting for what seems a long time and very hopeful for its support and strenghtening. You are kind to ask and I send you positive energy for restoration and healing.

I tried both- belly, back of arms, even thighs once. The belly was the least bothersome by far for me. As they go into subcutaneous tissue ( fat) there’s more in my abdominal area.
Good luck! The discomfort didn’t last more than a few days.

I recently got diagnosed with osteoporosis.

I am not a fan of medication. Had a two year scare with elevated liver enzymes because of cholesterol medication. I am also going through a lot of dental work. Any advice on what to take for osteoporosis?

@dmshope I hope it all goes well tomorrow. The injections are subcutaneous and the whole process is very quick. Will you let me know what your experience is?

I am sensitive to medication also so I chose hormones. don't think the Endo is all that happy with that choice, but gyn was fine with it.

I tried both, and belly worked best for me. Not on my pant waist area though.

I'm also thin with zero belly or arm fat. I found if my arm was hanging straight down vs bending at elbow the injections did not cause me any discomfort. When my arm was bent the injection hit the muscle and it was sore for a week.
