Geographical location affects you mentally?

These times are indeed vastly different and the feeling of safety anywhere, in including in my home, are gone. I don't think we actually felt safe back then because there was absolutely no danger so how could we know what "safe" was?. For example, I remember when the doorbell rang, everyone in my family would literally run to the door to find out who it was, be the first there to greet them and not even look out the peephole!. We just immediately opened the door with big smiles on our faces. That was many years ago. Today if the doorbell rings everyone inside looks around nervously, we whisper "Who could that be?" and we try to sneak a peak out a window to see who it is. What a difference! What a way to live! What in the world happened?

There are lots of people though trying to bring back, and increase, happiness and they way it used to be. I try to do it in all my social interactions but the problem is it's often not reciprocated.

Revelation 21:4 is hope for th future.

I have enjoyed your posts and replying back. I am still processing what has happened to our society. Many terms to describe include narcissism greed poverty transfer of wealth etc. I am much better if I do not read much news. I am following though what is happening with social security and medicare. In my small rural town a dollar type store opened at the end of February. My husband left due to criminal past of some employees. A co worker we thought was OK has been going to court for embezzlement at her prior job. The manager uses and sells drugs. He was in prison for over 15 years. There are rumors he sells store items out the back door. I will no longer shop there although the prices are good. The public comes in to shop and calls management thugs. My rural town is also conservative. I do not like or want to live in fear but sometimes boundaries and preventing a problem before it happens to us is worth it. I am a member of 2 other online communities. We meet via zoom and they are safe. I don't know what else to say ..
