Anyone else notice new heat/humidity intolerance since Long Covid?
I have been in Hawaii for vacation for about 12 days now. The heat and humidity seems to be making me very sick. Nausea, headaches, dizziness, high heart rate, and exercise intolerance. Of course these are all long covid symptoms anyway. But I was doing much better managing the symptoms before coming here. A short walk on the beach and sitting next to the ocean afterward made me sick for the rest of the day. I was hoping I would feel better here, not worse. Makes me think this summer in Minnesota heat and humidity I will be indoors a lot! Any body else have this heat/humidity intolerance new since Covid? Anything anybody knows to help with it outside of living indoors in AC?

I also have temperature dysregulation especially in the heat. Even a soak in a hot bath will send me to bed for hours. I was told it is a autonomic nervous system problem. I have to drink water with electrolytes all day to prevent dehydration and do have a high heart rate/fatigue when I am in the heat but am lucky not to have any other POTS symptoms. Mine has gotten better over the five years with Long COVID but still interferes greatly with my life.
Yes!! Cannot stand if it’s too warm or humid! Also since Covid, if I do anything the least strenuous, like house cleaning, walking, etc, I sweat like crazy! Have to take my glasses off and pause in between tasks. It becomes very frustrating. I had Covid in 2021 and I believe I can pinpoint this to a vaccine I had in March of 2023 along with a DVT in my leg.

I have heard this as a long covid symptom and that covid affects hormones and nerves. For women, I wonder if covid causes a hot flash type of symptom along with small nerve fibers and thyroid that help regulate body temperature.
Have you had recent bloodwork to check your thyroid function (full panels, not just TSH)?
Have you seen a neurologist for a neuropathy blood panel plus small fiber neuropathy skin punch biopsy from thigh/ankle?

Thanks for your reply. I had POTS symptoms for probably 8 months in early stage, they are all but gone now. Been 17 months of LC. Glad to hear your somewhat better, but seems we need to be prepared for this being long term. I agree it greatly interferes with my life. Wish you well
Mine is hot cold... hot cold....On with sweatshirt then off with sweatshirt.
It is a never ending cycle that i have just learned to deal with.
Long Covid has definitely affected my hormones and nerves. I get what I call "Covid chills" and Covid "flushes". Hormones and nerve system are completely messed up.
