BCG Shortage since 2019 may be resolved soon

That is what happened to me. My urologist said the BCG takes time to get the medicine. I had to wait about 6 weeks after they ordered the BCG drugs to start my treatments.

@stans2000 this is good news!! My husband was lucky in receiving BCG in 2020 but we were warned about the shortage. Delaying treatment can be a big risk with cancer. Thanks for sharing this.

Merck just opened their new facility in NC on March 11, 2025. When the new facility is fully operational, we expect to triple our current manufacturing capacity of TICE BCG. We anticipate that this will meet the needs of physicians and their patients for the foreseeable future. The investment in this new manufacturing facility reaffirms Merck’s longstanding commitment to producing this medicine for patients.

This is very good news. Side effects don’t seem to be too bad.

Thank God. I think this will be my husbands next therapy if it becomes available.

It wasnt available for my husband at all. He had a different treatment. Hopefully he will be considered for this.
