Controlling Tinnitus: What works for you?
Hello: Has anyone on this site had any luck with controlling tinnitus? I see certain things advertised but always sceptical. Any thoughts/ideas?

NOTHING works. It's there for ever!!
In 13 years with tinnitus, I have to say I have learned to live with it. Only the very loud buzzing version really bothers me but those tend to be brief. Hearing tests are tough on a loud tinnitus day. Some audiologists specialize in tinnitus so I would suggest finding one locally who might offer some relief. I have a hearing aid on one side and a bone anchored hearing aid on the other thanks to my ear cancer.
Ain’t that the truth!
This is Carole. Recently we're but no responser Tinnitus began in my 80s and hearing is getting worse. I hear several different sounds. Timing seemed about the time of Covid prevention injections. Also I have read of relief from taurine for a short interval. I have tried Lamire's for 16 weeks with essentially no changes. Can you comment please. Thanks. Carole
Thanks
There are different types of reasons people get that plague called Tinnitus, unlike some people here (God Bless them), I only suffering from it for a few months, went to the Audiologist and no hearing lost, try a bunch of thinks, what really helps are the masking sounds and distracting your brain from it, about the masking sounds for me I listen to waterfall or rain sounds COMBINED
with relaxing music (youtube is full of them) but it has to have 2 different sound otherwise I'll still hear the buzzing, beside that and again what helps me from a 8 to a 2 level may not help you,
but cutting the processed sugar from my diet helped a lot, magnesium calms the brain before
sleep and I take it every night. I'm also taking 2000mg of Taurine a day and I believe it helps
I'm thinking of increasing the dose to 3000mg and then stopping to see if it makes a difference.
it went from a level that caused sleepless very stressful nights to a really bearable level now.
I use a headband type of headphone, its very comfortable to wear at night and doesn't go inside your ears. Good luck everyone!
