I'm sorry you're having stress and hair loss. I'm 70, and the effects of aging can be really demoralizing. I do think that HU and maybe the ET intensify some of those effects. As an ET patient, I can tell you that blood banks will not take blood from ET patients, and ET patients are not supposed to give organ donations because there may be a danger of passing the mutation to others. We don't just have too many platelets, but we have a certain percentage of platelets that are immature, misshapen, and just don't work right. PRP sounds like a good question for your hemo. Would be interested in how this works out.

Thanks for your reply, and for the pertinent information as well. My hemo suggested I try PT for the meniscus tear and see an orthopedic physician which I am setting up now. As far as the hair loss, he seems to contribute that to stress. He did not feel PRP was appropriate for me and I am beginning to agree.
