Unknown autoimmune Disease?
Terrible pain that doctors can't figure out. I look up my symptoms, which are many and ask my doctor, he orders tests and says no you don't have that. It all started about a year ago when I had my senior vaccine for the flu and the covid vaccines together. Don't know if its related or not. Swollen glands in my neck, then horrible pain in right shoulder, then in left shoulder, weird bumps on my face that hurt, that nothing seems to help with, then pain in wrist and hand, then knee pain, feeling like something in my throat, keep sniffling, etc.
Finally doctor said: it must be fibromyalgia. I think they must lump everything that they can't figure out into this categorie.

I think so also. I had an orthopedic surgeon tell me that. Did they check ESR and Sed Rate? Maybe even HS-CRP? I did not get bumps on face or throat discomfort but everything else. Was polymyalgia Rheumatica. That turns out to be very similar to fibromyalgia.

1 ReactionMost GPs typically don't know where to begin for autoimmune disease other than to order a Rheumatoid Factor test to see if you're positive or possibly a CRP test for inflammation. Best bet is a consult with a rheumatologist who'll evaluate you and order panels to look for inflammatory markers and autoantibodies that can clue them in to what's going on. I had the same issue after my 2023 booster with swollen glands and severe pain in the shoulder. Due to the drugs I take, I'm now considered immunocompromised so instead of boosters I get a Pemgarda infusion quarterly as a Covid preventative. Hope you find some answers soon.
