Anyone had IsoPSA testing?

Seriously, I know I am going to count on this group for plenty of things, so thought I would introduce myself - Steve, hi.
I am early in the PCa process. One of the diagnostic tests I had done was an IsoPSA (8.0). I don't see much chatter about that here, and I am wondering if it is because it is new, or it is not accepted as a standard test. Any thoughts?

😳 Mine was 13 and I thought it was through the roof.
With that high an ISOPSA, you should be able to light up a PSMA PET scan because something is causing that number. Your result is high, IsoPSA >10 is associated with a sevenfold higher risk of csPCa (clinically significant prostate cancer).
You could do a PSMA Pet test before a biopsy just to see if there’s cancer somewhere else.
Would be interesting to see your actual PSA.
My isoPSA was 13 and my PSMA did not light up like a christmas tree. There was some visible uptake but the report noted that it was not “abnormal”.
@ialogic really glad to hear this. My blood Iso PSA was 22.9, and everything I’ve read about that is concerning. Just had my MRI and will know the results next week.
@detroitmike I have the same ISO result as you and just had my MRI, so I don’t know my pi rads yet. With a 2, did they still do a biopsy?
@topf is G8 your Gleason score? I’m not familiar with that term.
@stldadof4
A common threshold used in studies is an IsoPSA index greater than 6, which is associated with an increased risk of cancer.
Your high ISO PSA sort of says you should get a biopsy soon. Good to hear you got an MRI, Sounds like your doctors on it.

2 Reactions@stldadof4 Yes, I was Gleason 8 upon Biopsy. Downgraded to 3+4=7 with the pathology after surgery.

2 Reactions@stldadof4 Good luck & God's grace to you! This is the 1st I've ever even heard of IsoPSA, but then none of our Drs have offered much helpful info. Do we really have to wait till his PSA is greater than 4?! My husband's PSA went from 63 to 72 in 1 month early 2021 & they brought his PSA down to undetectable w/Lupron in less than 2mos. He has just begun an ADT Intermission w/every 3mo PSA! Wish us luck?!
