penn, Hi! Fibromyalgia is soreness and pain all over with fatigue. You can hurt anywhere. You may have
energy for 1-2 hours and then crash. Fibro is a connective tissue disease and now they are saying it is an
autoimmune disease. Fibro has sisters (LOL) which include Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Thyroid Disease, and
Osteoarthritis and Sojgren's. I have Fibro and 3 of the others listed. I also have Raynaud's Disease. Usually if you have one autoimmune disease, you will have another one.
You look fine, but, you hurt like the dickens. I have had it for 30 years this June. I cannot tolerate the
usual meds prescribed for it so the only think I take occasionally is Flexeril 5 mg (muscle relaxant), soak in
Epsom Salts and use Volater Gel for arthritis which is over the counter and a ton of supplements.
Praying for you and I empathize. Keep me posted on your progress.
Are you deemed disable? I haven't been able to find a med that works for me. I wondered about others with the diagnosis "has it been complicated finding a proper treatment?" Have you tried pt? I have been trying somatic movements exercise.
thecomfycouchcafe, No deemed disability here and I have 2 other autoimmune issues with it.
Finding treatment for me has been extremely hard as I cannot take any of the meds for Fibro/CFS that others can take.
PT worsens me. I move as much as possible.
The Lord is what keeps me going. Praying for you right now.
PT made me worse as well. Yet I mix some pt techniques with somatics movement techniques. I've tried chiro, massage, smh. Thanks Stay blessed
thecomfycouchcafe, Chiro made mine worse, but, gentle massages help so much....once a month. I walk as much as I can. I soak in Epsom Salt and use Voltaren gel 4 times a day per my doctor and I also use the Bed Buddy heat packs on Amazon. Blessings & Prayers...
Hi
I have had for thirty plus years. At one point I was on cymbalta And it really helps the pain but it's brutal mentally to get off. I had to take it after knee surgery. I take flexeril when i flare. Qigong exercise on YouTube is good and qi yoga very gentle. Walking really helps. Also on a sleep medication trazadone it works well at low dose. Also cbd oil when not in a flare. It's a journey you just have to find what works for you.
Thank you but my husband puts lotion on my legs but due to nerve pain it hurts so much. Taking nortriptyline, for 2 weeks now. NOTHING HELPS!!! SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT FOR AWHILE I WILL BUT NOT OPTIMISTIC
