Its not as easy as you think, at least not in my state. I applied in Indiana, and was denied after 8 months of waiting for an answer. My MELD was 25 when I applied, so I was pretty sick and hadn't been working. I've appealed it, but had to hire an attorney "who doesn't get paid unless I do" for appeal. That was a month ago, and still haven't heard anything. Getting my new liver was easier than getting $$ for disability. I'm mostly seeking it at this point to pay off the credit card debt I've built up trying to survive the year of not working. They will pay up to a year worth of benefits in back pay. Good luck!

I applied all after the fact with all the medical records not during because I didn’t know you could mine is a one time 2 year case only separate from everything else soon I’ll apply for disability from ssi using a attorney
