Thank you! This is very helpful. I have read about the ceramic coated devices. I have certainly asked about it at MGH and as recently as yesterday at the Boston Bone and Joint Institute. They've both sort of glazed over. Apparently not in their tool boxes and not interested in researching the possibilities. I am aware of the doctor in Seattle and I believe there is one in CO. Not easy to travel for such a major surgery and recovery. My metal allergy symptoms were varied and severe. Began with extreme pain at the surgery site. Fewver. Extreme joint and muscle pain. Headaches, blistering rashes, Constant flu-like symptoms. Very high white blood cell count. VERY high BP. I felt my hip deteriorating daily. After 3 years he agreed to remove the metal. I had immediate relief but much damage had been done by my immune system attacking my joints. It is debilitating.
