Having strange on/off pain deep in rectum since having colon removal

I’ve had this even before my colon resection. It feels like having a BM might help but it doesn’t. It’s random and usually hits me at night. For me it follows stressful times maybe 1x every 3-4 months no rhyme or reason. The closest I came to calling it something was protaglia fugax but Doctor doesn’t even know.

Thank you! You have finally given me an answer, I looked this up & it is exactly what I am experiencing. I will discuss with my dr at my next appt. I hope yours gets better.
