Have things gotten better?
I am being told that risks are rare and that it is a fast, simple and relatively painless procedure that will protect me from potential vision loss if I have a narrow angle closure attack. Yet, I haven't read any positive outcomes posted anywhere online and wondering why? I have no symptoms, normal eye pressure and no optic nerve involvement at this point. Still, I am being strongly advised to have this procedure. I came across Moorfields Eye Hospital website (UK) which says that Iridotomy is no longer recommended for asymptomatic cases. I feel like moving to England!

I am not better at all. I mistyped the Dr office that I went to. It was Midwest Eye Center. Dr Louis Schott.

I ended up with progressive cataracts and had to have them removed, but now the glare from the LPI is even worse. I was too young really to have cataracts. My mom is 84 and has better eyes than I do now.

Sounds like you were told same thing as I was. Just 4 months prior I seen a dr gor dry eye and it is noted in my records that my eyes were clear snd zero sign of glaucoma symptoms.

The dr I seen in another state also said he did not do LPI because it causes too many issues. I was flat out lied to that it does not affect vision. Going outside now is brutal on my eyes and actually makes me feel sick.

If you have low pressure I would get another opinion for sure!! I had zero symptoms. No other dr ever mentioned it. Only issue I had was dry eye. I had perfect vision prior to the LPI. I curse that dr every day. Not kidding. I am miserable now.

I wish I had found all this info before, but that dr scared me to death about going blind.

Please be aware that it does mess up eyes. It sure did mine. They also water constantly now, too. So awful.
