Sinusitis much worse since Covid. Anyone else?
Since Covid two-plus years ago, my chronic sinusitis has ramped up -- I get it back seemingly every other week, now with viral-feeling body aches, fatigue, funky-feeling eyes, plus a right-eye twitch. In the past, I had a balloon procedure and an antrostomy. Doc is talking about a third surgery to facilitate mucus flow in the left maxillary. When I ask if Covid might be a contributing factor, he has no answer. Not his fault; he can't really know. Has anyone else had this particular experience? I do the usual saline + antibiotic + steroid + baby shampoo rinses twice daily. Anything else to try before submitting to a third surgery, medical or alternative? I'm doing acupuncture, but so far it hasn't changed anything. Thanks and all the best to group members!

I have used neilmed sinus rinse with 1/4 quarter teaspoon of vinegar since summer 2014. I got bacterial meningitis of my brain from chronic sinusitis. I was seriously ill. I went into cardiac arrest. My answer to your post is no. Research literature demonstrated that neil med sinus rinse reduced the viral load of Sars cov 2. It reduces bacterial fungal loads too.
shashig, Yes, I can absolutely relate. I had more sinus infections sinus infections since having COVID. The only thing that keeps me off oral antibiotics is a compounded prescription (has to go to a Compounding Pharmacy) that my ENT doctor gave me. It's called Mupirocin and budesonide irrigation. It's about $60, but, it works and the bottle will last you a long time. You open up the capsule and pour it into your Neilmed Saline Sinus rinse with distilled water solution. Shake it up and then rinse your sinuses. I have horrible allergies and am prone to sinus infections, but, COVID has ramped them up to where I am having more. I would have to say the worse sinus infection of my life was when I had
COVID the first time in 2022.
I felt a sinus infection coming on this week due to all of the pollen and used it twice that day. The next day, the infection was almost completely gone.
Ask your ENT about this. It certainly saves your kidneys & liver & teeth from all of the oral antibiotics. IT WORKS! Blessings & Prayers....
Thank you, covidstinks2023! I've been doing the ENT-prescribed budesonide-mupiricin nasal rinse for over a year...my allergist-immunologist even switched me over to a stronger gentimicin-desoximetasone combo to see if that worked better. Both also added a drop of baby shampoo to the saline rinse. No help. On my own I just started adding one drop of wild oregano oil, too. Super strong! We shall see...glad the Rx is working for you so well!! Sinusitis is a bear!!
shashig, I so relate and yes it is a "bear". Bless you. I so empathize.
Do you use anything like Flonase? Just curious.
Praying for you. Blessings & Prayers....
Yes, I used generic Flonase, was switched to ipratropium bromide. Can't see a huge improvement with either. Going to add a few drops of colloidal silver to the nose cocktail. Suggested on a bunch of "natural remedy" websites.

Surgeries don’t help. What occurs in the tissues is an intrinsic response. Do not let ENTs mess around with your natural anatomy more than they already have. You need that for defense and immune purposes.
Nothing they do with tools helps the inflammatory response.
