Has anyone experienced pain in groin area?

Has anyone experienced groin pain on the left leg? I was originally told that this was do to sciatica, and the pressing on nerves.

I had occult groin pain after resuming jogging at age 70.
Went to my ortho and hips were in good shape.
Golf was an aggravating factor. Consulted a general
surgeon and he diagnosed bilateral inguinal hernias.
Successful laparoscopic repair had me free of symptoms
for a month until I resumed my normal activities!
Got fairly painful with golf until I felt a snap on teeing off and went down on my knees. Long story shortened-
torn adductor tendon relieved the pain and made the diagnosis. Psoriatic arthritis was the real culprit and the
cause in retrospect. Doing well on Humira and the golf course with a caring rheumatologist.

Finally diagnosed with an MRI. Pain in groin and butt. My labrum is torn in two places (from a fall for me but took 6 months of gaslighting and blowing me off, STILL, for an entire year. It was my PCP that finally ordered the MRI. A hip dr even refused to see me after looking at an older MRI of my spine. YES I have a terrible back but this is my hip I fell on tile and landed on my hip. Nobody would listen. Good luck.

At this point one doctor says I need a hip replacement and one says not. See a 3rd person and whatever he says is right?

@bebold funny how doctors think they can go by old imaging I had my surgeon that done my fusion and 2 other surgeons look at my I believe was 8 month old MRI and said they wouldn’t do nothing (first surgeon meant it wouldn’t even get me out of a wheelchair to check me ) then about a year later I was referred to Mayo Clinic and they done a CT and found a loose screw (in my back not my head) but still insist leave it alone and put in a spine stimulator

I'm glad you've been able to find some relief Sammy. Osteoporosis at age 47 - that's very young. Is this hereditary? How don the Drs explain it?

All the best.

Joe

Was diagnosed with tendonopathy in my hip with bursitis and need surgery as nothing else works. Went to Mayo who said that's a sports doctor problem and they probably won't see or treat you because you are too old. Go get physical therapy (which you never do when you have pain like this) In the meantime I am in excruciating pain and have already contacted Switzerland to see about end of life options and I cannot live with pain like this anymore. Thanks Mayo

@ljkljk

Try a 2nd opinion at another top hospital. What is too old???
People are having hip surgeries in their 80’s
If a sports med doctor is the one who would possibly do this, see one.

You are not one opinion and done.

Apparently tendon issues are very different from hip replacement. Tons of doctors do hip replacements but only a select few do tendon repair. I spoke with 3 doctors before I went to Mayo. I saw a PA there and she works for a doctor that does replacements. However she said she consulted with the one who does tendon repairs and they don't do it on people of my age. Just told me they recommended I keep getting pain injections and PRP. BTW PRP costs a minimum of $850.00 per injection. One other sports doctor also does not do this type of surgery past 65 years old. However I did have an Honor doctor recommend doing surgery on me for this and I'm going back to him. Unfortunately I have some health issues which my pulmonologist at Mayo said I cannot have any surgery at all in my condition. But I am willing to do a spinal and not general anesthetic so hopefully the Honor doctor will be willing to do it. I am desperate and willing to try anything even it means taking a huge risk for a heart attach. I'd rather that than become a drug addict from the pain. Thus my communication with Switzerland. Apparently a much more humane country
