Confused and diagnosed with fibromyalgia
well i got diagnosed with fibromyalgia at a second opinion doctor. honestly i’m not sure i agree since well i never had issues with pain and i would even say i have a high pain tolerance. i have sprained my (right) ankle so many times i lost count. last time i sprained it i had to be on crutches and on a boot for 3 months which was 2-3 years ago. ever since i’ve had issues with walking, running, standing, anything for too long i get numbness and tingling which is a constant feeling but doing anything with movement makes it worse. my left leg is perfectly fine and doesn’t hurt what so ever. i don’t have pain anywhere else and not sure if this is anything but i have IBS-mixed but i’ve had this issue before the bad sprain.
any thoughts or opinions?

This couldn’t be more genuine, real and true.
Everything that you wrote is accurate and being that you are 81, I would take your wisdom any day.
There is a generation of individuals that see the humans in the “white coats” as the answers to their health problems, while leaving their intuitive, mind body connection abandoned.
Let’s not forget there is money to be made in healthcare. And an old saying “if you don’t have any problems, go to the doctor, they will find one for you”

You have to know yourself best, in and out with confidence, before you ever enter a doctor’s office and communicate with them.
It is a partnership of thoughts and collaboration.
One needs to have an intuitive and confident side about them. And not be lead by a simple guess by another individual in a white coat.
It’s just a fact. As bold as it sounds. It’s fact.
seekinginfo,
at best we would all enter the communication with any doctor knowing more about our disease than they do.
After all we have one or two ailments to deal with and they have more than is possible to keep up with the research on. We have one (sometimes two patients) they have thousands without remembering the names that we never forget.
While I don't see it as bold, I do recognize that the icodeal isn't always the possible.
I marvel at how some of our connectors even manage to sit at a computer.
May pain, memory loss, inability to concentrate, intolerance for sitting, confuision, depression never overwhelm you.
Sisyphus,
and good genes. Congratulations you won that lottery.
