Aromatase VS estrogen blocking supplements
I am not wanting to start taking aromatase medication due to all the side effects. Has someone had experience with not taking the aroma taters and using more of a nature pathic method we have some clinics in our area. There are lots of estrogen reduction supplements on the market. I had early detection breast cancer that was estrogen positive

I cant take tamoxofin due to vlood clotting in legs. If I do, I have to take blood thinners. That is a whole other type of problem.
Hi! I’m the same! May I ask what you did and how you are now?
I am interested in this too. I have decided not to take the estrogen blockers since the side effects can be so debilitating, especially at my age.
I was given Tamoxifen to take day after breast cancer radiation was done. I had a lumpectomy. It truly shut down my - well - my whole disposal system in 2 days. It’s a mess. Deep fissure
& much Pain & burning. I do take Linzess so pre-existing issue I’m guessing - going on 40 days with minor improvement. I will now not take any of the drugs & work naturally to try & keep cancer from coming back! And pray this issue does resolve w/o any needed surgery🙏
I tried first Letrozole, then Exemestane--with both, my tinnitus increased greatly, but no other side effects. Tried Anastrozole, tinnitus went back to its usual level. No other side effects so far. Started Kisqali one week ago--no side effects at all, except that it seems to improve my mood and energy--side effects that I'll gladly accept. Since I'm taking Kisqali, I have to take an AI.
Also, there are scientific studies on both Letrozole and Exemstane that show 1/2 the normal dose reduces estrogen just as much as a full dose. Why not ask your doctor about this?
Good nutrition is extremely important. However, I personally would not rely on it alone to prevent my cancer from returning. BTW, I'll be 81 next month. Not every older person has bad side effects from AIs!
Glad it is working! I'm almost 71 and have been on letrozole for over 2 years with no side effects--although I do need to get a bone denisityscan. When I went on the AI I just told myself I'd tell my doc I was going off if side effects were intolerable. I'm glad I started because so far so good!
My cancer center did a DEXA scan when I started AIs--to get a baseline.
I am 71 and have been taking Anastrozole for almost two months with no noticeable side effects. I did have a bone density scan before I started, and my oncologist said I will get one every other year to keep an eye on my bone health.
indole-3-carbinole as a supplement is recommended. See https://www.verywellhealth.com/indole-3-carbinol-5096349
Natural food sources of indole-3-carbinole are cruciferous veggies cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, radishes).
I stopped taking taking I3C during targeted chemo treatment under doctor's orders. I'm in a clinical study testing the effectiveness of Enheru on HER2 positive endometrial cancer and suspect that the doctor doesn't want anything that would compromise the study results.
Nevertheless, I eat plenty of the foods that may help reduce or inhibit estrogen elimination or re-absorption, like the foods mentioned above.
