I've had this burning in my feet and legs since 2001 to 2016 working from a latter 8to10hrs a day, now I feel like I'm always up on the latter, even when I'm on the ground.
Welcome @aaronhit711, That has to be an awful feeling. I didn't realize that could happen from being on a ladder. Here's some information that might be helpful while you wait for others to repond.
"Why do my feet hurt after being on a ladder?
Extensor tendonitis: The tendons that run along the top of the foot can become inflamed due to overuse, leading to pain and swelling on the top of the midfoot. This is common in people who engage in activities or jobs that involve repetitive movements, such as running, dancing, or climbing stairs or ladders."

Have you seen a doctor or foot specialist?

Sometimes when I read the posts, I know I probably should NOT reply...BUT...here I go.
OK, I was NOT really diagnosed correctly in 1990. I had a lot of pain, lots of Doctors, but... NOBODY knew what the heck was going on. I had to change jobs in a big way! I had no idea what the heck was wrong with my feet!! I had a burning feeling that made it impossible to wear even a low heel. Sneakers, here we come! I had to quit my "Outside Sales" job. ( Boo-Hoo, Good pay!) Next, I did customer contact within a Computer Co, sitting at a DESK.!
Finally, after going from Doctor to Doctor, a Podiatrist recommended Surgery on both feet. (Hold your breath)...I said OK!!! He did the right one first, and said to walk on my heel for a year. Then, as soon as I could put weight on the one foot, he did the other. ( I know, but I was
desperate)
OK, it is 2025. Yes, BIG problems with both feet...consistent pain 24-7,. Oh, unlike others, I cannot go barefooted even for a walk from bed to the close bathroom at night.
TOO MUCH PAIN !!
Here is what drives most of us nuts. Yep, PN, but ALL DIFFERENT!! Do I have to try all five solutions?? I think I did four, not counting the surgery) Gimmie a break. So I might just MENTION a drug or path that worked for me, this king of drugs, or just SAY what I did or do not do now, and maybe it "no workie for me" or does, or sort of' or no? We share anyway, because misery loves company...plus we might get some solid suggestions?
Let's just remember...spell it out PLEASE, but we are not suggesting but let us feel free to SHARE!! Best luck everyone!
Thanks for this site!!

John, how have you managed with your idiopathic neuropathy with only numbness? How has it progressed over time. How long have you experienced this condition?

I've been dealing with it since my late 40s to early 50s. I will be 82 next month. I shared my neuropathy journey in another discussion here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/.
While the supplements I started taking in 2016 haven't cured my numbness, I do believe they have slowed and possibly stopped the progression as it hasn't gotten any worse but I also haven't had any additional testing done to confirm my feelings. I also put lotion on my legs and feet most nights to help keep the skin hydrated. I mostly use LifeFlo magnesium lotion as it seems to have a calming affect.

My PN is the same though I have only had this for 9 years. Since my neurologist starting me on Nortripyline, my pain in my toes is rare, mostly triggered by hi/lo temperature.
I still have some numbness in hasn't progressed beyond my knees.
I,too, take care of my feet and legs and use lotion.
I've got a Magnisium spray but get minimal comfort.
Always learn something new on this page.
This may not apply to anyone here but I would suggest getting your B6 levels checked if you are having non-diabetic neuropathy. I was having that about one and a half years ago and went to a neurologist who did a battery of tests (she kept saying I must be diabetic when I am not- I do occasionally get into the lower levels of pre-diabetes). She checked my B6 levels and they were way too high from the B-complex I was taking. I know that they say that B vitamins are water soluble but for some of us the wrong kind of B6, pyridoxinne hcl, can accumulate to toxic levels in our bodies and that is what is used for most vitamins. She told me to get off all vitamins with B6 in them. It took about 4 months but I finally got back to somewhat normal concerning the neuropathy. The excessive B6 gave me tremors as well but that is another issue altogether.

Thanks John...you are the BEST!
Has anyone tried Gabapentin extended release and had success with relief from numbness in lower extremities?
I don't think there are any medications that will help with numbness. You might find the following discussion helpful - Neuropathy: Numbness only, no pain - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/neuropathy-numbness-only-no-pain/
