Tymlos and travel into a different time zone.
I will be traveling for the first time since starting Tymlos. The time change is significant, my options are just continuing at bedtime regardless of the actual time difference possibly skipping a dose or keeping with the clock at home so when I return I am still on schedule. I don’t experience side effects. Does anyone know, is there a correct way to do this or personal preference?

In response toPosted by mundy @mundy: I am so sorry that I cannot help with your important question. I am curious how you might monitor the temperature of the Tymlos pen while you are traveling in order to avoid overheating.

1 ReactionI switched time of injection from AM to PM during one trip involving big time zone difference. Switched from PM to AM when back. There probably isn't a 'best' way as long as the method you will be using is convenient to you. The method to stick to PM ( local time) injection is to miss a dose, actually to lengthen the time in between two doses.
Enjoy your trip!

2 ReactionsI thought I was lucky that the timing of my trip didn’t involve two pens. Once the pen is primed and being used, is it not temperature stable? I guess I have some homework to do.
Thank you for asking that question @susanjohnston
This is the information I found: "After first use, store the TYMLOS pen for up to 30 days at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C)." So it may not be an issue, but I was not sure how one can be assured that temperatures in travel venues would not exceed that range. Even at home, it might be tricky.

2 ReactionsThanks again @susanjohnston for your question. I found this on the Tymlos official website- Store for up to 30 days at room temperature between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C) after first use.
I be preparing for how to ensure this.
I bought this great cooling container to keep the pen cool when traveling:
4ALLFAMILY Nomad 1-3 Pens Insulin... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SR294KM
Also, best to check with your doc, but I suspect it's fine to delay the shot rather than take it earlier than normal.

2 ReactionsI called Tymlos and asked if there was a downside to keeping it in the fridge at home instead of at room temperature. She said that I would need to remove it from the fridge about 45 minutes before I used it in order to reduce discomfort during the injection.
Reviving this to see if anyone has further experience on time zone changes and multiple flights. Have an upcoming international trip. I take Tymlos in AM. Flight 1 leaves late PM but also gets in local time PM. Then next morning a local AM flight 2 arriving in PM. I want to keep taking my Tymlos in the AM as it gives me great energy. I’m thinking maybe just skip the Flight 2 day and restart on Day 3. That will be 9 hours ahead of “my” time, want to figure out how to adjust. maybe I should ask Radius? Or just restart local AM time after skipping one day and see if I can adjust quickly? Obviously am going to have the same issue in reverse 3 weeks later. Thanks
