I've been dealing with it since my late 40s to early 50s. I will be 82 next month. I shared my neuropathy journey in another discussion here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/.

While the supplements I started taking in 2016 haven't cured my numbness, I do believe they have slowed and possibly stopped the progression as it hasn't gotten any worse but I also haven't had any additional testing done to confirm my feelings. I also put lotion on my legs and feet most nights to help keep the skin hydrated. I mostly use LifeFlo magnesium lotion as it seems to have a calming affect.

My PN is the same though I have only had this for 9 years. Since my neurologist starting me on Nortripyline, my pain in my toes is rare, mostly triggered by hi/lo temperature.
I still have some numbness in hasn't progressed beyond my knees.
I,too, take care of my feet and legs and use lotion.
I've got a Magnisium spray but get minimal comfort.
