osteoporosis and pelvic prolapse
I am wondering if any women in this discussion group struggle with pelvic floor prolapse and osteoporosis. I have both. If so has anyone had prolapse surgery? since weight training is so important for osteoporosis I am wondering how you have navigated that with prolapse concerns? Can we start a discussion with those of us who have both concerns? I am hoping I am not alone in my struggle with both.

I have both I had my first prolapse surgery with both bladder and rectocele repair. Plus I have osteoporosis. The bladder sling surgery was successful. I do have some urgency still but I deal with that. The rectocele surgery lasted 9 months and prolapsed again. It’s terrible when you can’t control your bowel movement. I had another surgery and this time it has been a year and so far so good. I don’t run or jump up and down or HIIT for exercise anymore. The osteoporosis has not gotten worse hopefully when I get a Dexa scan this fall it will be good news.
I have a weaken pelvic floor and I did sign up for Buff Muff. I did the reduced price of $17. It has all the exercises to help strengthen your pelvic floor.

1 ReactionHi! I am about to take my prolia shot for osteoporosis, but I’m very nervous after seeing all the side effects
What should I do? Should I stop taking it and even the rebound effect is bad. That’s what I’m seeing. I need some advice please!
I have Osteoporosis of the Spine and a Prolapse, and I did have a chance to have an operation on my prolapse but, I failed to get it done. At the time that I saw the Gynecologist I was in deep depression, and was also a little bit afraid to get an operation done. I know it might sound crazy to you all. I went back to my Family Physician months later and told him I was ready to get it done, could he please send me back to the Specialist and surprisingly, he won't let me see a Gynecologist again, I don't know why, he doesn't want to get into it. I have Severe Osteoporosis of the Spine, and my Prolapse is Severe as well, and I can feel that my groin is being affect and my left hip is very weak, and something is wrong with it, it feels like its going to fracture. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do about my situation, I have vertabrae fractures in the spine, and compression fractures as well, is there anything that I can do, to have an operation done, or just something natural to help the prolapse so it won't affect the left hip anymore. Could the prolapse affect the hip and cause a fracture in the left hip? The Endocrynologist says no, but, I don't know if she knows much about prolapses. I feel very afraid and confused. If anyone has any knowledge about Prolapses and Severe Osteoporosis of the Spine, please share any information with me, I would be very grateful for any information you may have. Thankyou Cindy

I started this thread so yes I have both a rectocele and a endocele. I have had compression fractures on the spine. I am seeing a pelvic floor PT that is well versed on the Whole Pelvic Floor and is helping me with all the organs in the area. I had a complete hysterectomy and rectocele repair at 47. The rectocele repair did not hold. I am 73 now. This has been a long standing issue for me. I did not know about pelvic floor PT til I was 69. I have been doing that since then as well as a urogynecologist. That urogynecologist will be doing surgery in March. I have done a lot of deliberation about having surgery as well as alot of prayer. Please find a urogynecologist and get an opinion. Have you seen a pelvic floor PT.? Both are important .
Feel free to private message me.
I have not had prolapse surgery, but pelvic floor issues & frequent urination issues. In conjunction, while on Evenity I have suffered from debilitating pain in the ischial tuberosity area; groin bone to hip bone. They sent me for stat X-ray to check for fracture because I’ve been in such pain. As of October, I’ve had 6 injections & 6 mos of misery. I also have severe Achilles
Tendonitis- all on left side. When I start Physical Therapy for my ankle; I am going to search out pelvic floor expert & start PT for that. First I’ve got to fall with heart issues & arrhythmia issue - also brought about by Evenity. I think I am done doing injection & will not complete the full course of 12 mos.
Not worth the side effects; cost benefit analysis is a negative deficit for me.
That should read, deal with heart issues - not fall. Speaking of which, I am going to ask my Primary Care physician for a license for Handicapped individuals; as that is what Evenity has brought me to.

1 Reaction@udodgethis999 I had rectocele surgery this year for prolapse . I had no problem whatsoever. Unfortunately pelvic floor PT is not successful for this it is better for bladder prolapse. Before the surgery I used what is called a Myaid Femmeze device. I can’t recommend this enough until I had my surgery. You need a urogynecologist to perform the surgery.
@kristie2 I am fortunate I found a pelvic floor PT that is helping me with preparing me for the surgery for rectocele I will be having again in March. I agree not all pelvic PT s are.

1 ReactionI have very bad osteoporosis and bladder prolapse. Did clast and prolia because I didn't know better. Got breast cancer in the middle of these drugs and dental work that required surgery to remove a root canal. I am not doing any drugs but I follow Dr. Lisa Moore's videos which are very good and she teaches well. I also just got me suplements from the Bone coach. co recently and I hope that my next DEXA comes better.
I have seen 4 pelvic floor physical therapist for the prolapse with not positive results until I bought the Buff Muff program. Now my trips to pee have diminished along with leaking. Kim says that there's no cure for prolapse but my goal is less symptoms so will see. I want to avoid surgery at all costs.
Do any of you knows of a osteoporosis group besides the ones in Facebook?
