I suffered with this condition of low functioning pancreas for at least a year and was really getting depressed about it. I had had blood tests, swallow treats with imaging and swallowed a camera to figure out what the real problem was. Finally, my stool was tested which, by the way, was the cheapest test by far to figure out that it was my pancreas not producing enough enzymes! So, my GI wrote a prescription for enzyme replacement therapy which was like $1,000 a prescription. Not an option for me, but then my GI recommended a porcine pancreatic enzyme supplement which totally did the trick. I have to be vigilant about taking them when I eat. But I have not had a problem since. And it's really been a godsend. But apparently I'm going to have to take these enzymes for the rest of my life, but at least I don't have fecal incontinence anymore. Totally worth it.

This is pretty much what happened to me. I did have my
Appendix removed along my journey. It really put me in a bad place mentally. I'm
Taking Creon which thankfully cost me about $30/mo has completely changed my life.
