I did have floaters and still do, I was assured that they’re normal and not an indication of problems, The lights you see in your eyes should definitely be checked out,
I would definitely recommend an ophthalmologist over an optometrist, they are specialists and optometrists are not, it will save you time and you want to get an accurate diagnosis, I made the mistake of going to an optometrist and she said that there’s nothing wrong with my eyes.
