Good morning from Canada
I had what started out as a golf ball sized hernia along my lower incision line. My surgery line is from sternum to hip. Looks like an upside down hockey stick. It started out small like a golf ball. I waited a year for my surgery because it was considered elective when they actually went in and repaired the hernia. It had ripped the entire surgical line. I had to have complete rebuild of everything inside and no I cannot lift anything over 20 lb and I can't gain more than 20 lb in weight or it'll rip open again. I found the post hernia surgery recovery way way worse than the transplant surgery.

It started with a hernia and kept getting bigger and way more painful finally 8 months later I had mesh installed inside my whole scar 8”x10” piece and it still hurts 4 months later and hurt way more than my transplant , I’m not supposed to lift anything over 10 lbs basically a gallon of milk but my whole scar was really thin skin and doesn’t get thicker, I was used to lifting 100 lbs all the time
