Chronic Lymphocitic Leukemia, myasthenia Gravis and Melanoma
My husband was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis and CLL 3 years ago and was recently diagnosed with melanoma in December. He had a mole on his lower back and had it removed. In February they had to have another surgery to go deeper since the melanoma was 2.3cm deep into the tissue. They also took out lymph nodes to see if it has spread, which it did. When visiting with the oncologist, he wanted to try a treatment but when my husband asked if it would interfere with the MG medication, he had forgotten about that condition. He ordered an MRI on his brain and a full body pet scan. We had those done a week ago and we have the results but now the doctor went on vacation for 2 weeks and we now have to wait till March 31. With that being said, if I post the findings, can anyone determine if it’s spread to other areas? Here are the results:
IMPRESSION:
1. There is significant hypermetabolic activity within the right inguinal region which the skin and showing 8.92 within the 6.2 cm lesion described above.
2. There is right inguinal adenopathy and retroperitoneal adenopathy showing moderate activity of up to 2.67 peak SUV.
3. There is a focus of skin thickening and hypermetabolic activity in the lower midline back at presumed melanoma biopsy site with peak SUV of 3.20.
4. Warm axillary and mediastinal nodes reaching up to peak SUV of 2.14.
5. Multiple faintly visible are nodules are noted, the largest which is chronic in the right apex and reaches 1.1 cm, though none of which show particular hypermetabolic activity measurements reaching 1.47 peak SUV maximum at the right apex with
additional nodes.
6. Presumed degenerative and musculoskeletal activity of the bilateral knees, greater in the right knee with prosthesis, bilateral shoulders, and particularly along margin of the left hip.
7. Please note that with three separate listed cancer types, differentiation cause for nodal disease limited.

Welcome to Connect, @sandybillington. Oh gosh, I know how difficult it is to be waiting for the consultation on test results. Especially when we can see them in the portal and would like some clarification. Unfortunately, as members in the forum, we’re not able to interpret medical tests, diagnose or offer treatments.
I’m so sorry that you’ll have to wait a little longer because I know you’re wanting to get the best possible treatment options for your husband. But the only person who is able to give you the answers would be your husband’s doctor.
Have the oncologist and the doctor treating your husband for MG been in communication with each other as to treatment interactions?
@sandybillington, I wanted to let you know that there is also a support group dedicated to melanoma here:

How did your husband's appointment go earlier this week? What are the next steps?
