Enhancing body's natural abilities toward healing...

I see many of you with ET are using or seeking info on supplement use and dietary recommendations to add to their hematologist's recommendations which is a way for me to feel more in control when I can add something to the mix. I used acupuncture after surgery for a fx patella which helped me feel better in many ways. When I was diagnosed with ET ( CALR) a year ago at 79 I was shocked and felt betrayed by my body. When I came out of that space I was reminded of my past interest in earthing/grounding and started using and expanding my equipment for practicing it. My response to hydrea has been slow and erratic as far as lowering the platelets. I haven't tested for a few months now and will this week.
But I feel better able to cope with the fatigue and anxiety since grounding again . And my itching and rash from atopic dermatitis is nearly non existemt! BUT be sure to discuss with your treatment team before too much involvement as consistent earthing has been proven to accelerate blood flow and may affect blood thinners, ie asa. I am also CALR and it took a year to get the right HU dose. I have no scientific evidence to back it up, but slow/erratic respond to HU seems to be a common story among CALRs, especially if the doc starts you off on a lower dose. The good thing is that CALRs are less prone to clots than JAK2s. Introducing a new meds after age 60 also seems to be more of a crap shoot (for me anyway). My guess is that the body is going thru a lot of aging changes that makes it more sensitive to new stuff.

Fingers crossed that this will level out for you. I am 70, on it for 6 years now, and stay in 400s.
